The Chairman was skippering the 3's for the first time this season and got off to the worst possible start by losing a crucuial toss. Inevitably Grayswood were inserted and Chetan and Tom started well against a tight bowling from all the Grayshott bowlers. Tom was first to fall for 11 while Chetan's unorthadox approach continued b to befuddle the bowlers and at times himself. However no one could stay with him as Nik, John, Anil and Sumit all fell cheaply to some very good bowling. Chris was totally bamboozled by Cook's chinamen at one end and unable to get a bat on Messina's right arm round, outsde leg stump line at the other. Chetan batted on for a priceless 50 before being trapped in front by the returning Jones. Late blows from Chris , Alice and Adie took Grayswood to 129 all out. It never looked enough.
Sumits early wicket merely brought the agressive Avery to the wicket who proceded to flog the attack to all parts. The only bright spot for Grayswood were the late wickets for Chetan and Alice which brought us a point. A chastening afternoon.
